Has anyone taken a look at MyInwood.Net lately? It’s blossomed a bit – getting a jump on spring I guess you could say. And obviously, if you’re reading this, you may have noticed a few changes here at HMP.
It seems I’ve gone a bit Thesis-crazy.
Some kind of new fad, you ask? More like an event on par with the invention of the socket wrench or drywall even. The Thesis HTML framework by DIYThemes’ Chris Pearson is not a fad. It is a strong, elegant and infinitely interchangeable framework that makes developing web sites a dream.
My Inwood.Net, Diane Dimond.Net, Atlas Orthogonal, Susan Filan and the site your are reading right now were all built with Thesis. There are 2 more Thesis sites about to roll off the assembly line here at HMP. Short story – I’m sold.
So what is it? Well, let’s say the sites I build are like houses. I build the foundation with Wordpress, the framing and structure with Thesis. The interior architecture, gadgets, painting and decorating is created by me, the client and specialized open source developers.
The studs and supporting walls are all a product of the Thesis framework. I’ve been using Thesis since the very first release and with the way it is working now, I can’t imagine what wonderful features the next generations will bring. I do know that this site and those of many of my customers are all in line to benefit from DIY’s future technology. Kudos to Chris, Rick and the rest of the community.
So am I worried about web sites starting to look the same? Absolutely not. Thesis is ridiculously customizable. That’s the beauty of it. As a site builder, I have the benefit of being familiar with the code while at the same time, being free to really change things up. The theme is well supported and just makes so much sense, it actually supplies a bit of confidence somehow. I don’t know how a folder full of code can do that but this one does.
Best of all. With Thesis, my client’s sites will definitely NOT all look the same.
My first Thesis site was Diane Dimond.Net. Although this site has been upgraded to 1.3.2, It has remained pretty much unchanged since her debut. Diane is going to get a full-on re-design with 1.4.2 very soon. Shsssh! Don’t tell her. It’s a surprise.
And that’s what you get when you have your site built by Hudson Moon. Wordpress is fast becoming the greatest blog and content management system on the planet. I make those here. And I use the best tools and materials in the industry – Thesis by DIYThemes. These sites are evolving fast and that’s what this business is all about. Evolving and taking every advantage you can. If you stand still, you’ll get run over.
So let’s go… There’s a high-road. And it awaits us…
